Qualified SLPA Fieldwork Experience certificate applicants must:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders from an institution listed in the “Accredited Institutions of Postsecondary Education” handbook issued by the American Council on Education. The California Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology licensing board does not accept degrees from outside of the United States as meeting the SLPA licensing law requirements.
- Locate and submit for approval the name of a California licensed and ASHA certified speech language pathologist who will serve as the student's supervisor, and provide information about the site where the supervised clinical fieldwork hours will take place.

- Complete and submit a program application by the application deadline date.
