(Sept. 16, 2014) - The Tseng College hosted a reception to celebrate a new initiative that connects the research and knowledge of CSUN with CleanTech LA. The event included business displays as well as presentations by university and local officials to highlight the campus collaboration. CleanTech LA serves as a nonprofit hub for a coalition of education and business entities dedicated to "clean energy" for the Greater Los Angeles area.

The event celebrated LACI@CSUN Business Incubator's new satellite office on campus. Tonight marks an important milestone in CSUN's history, - said Julia Potter, program external relationships lead for the Tseng College. The LACI@CSUN incubator will foster new energy for innovation and new opportunities for entrepreneurship at CSUN and the San Fernando Valley.

LA Cleantech Incubator nurtures companies and organizations that develop and implement alternative energy resources. Its incubator facility on campus will further the goal to foster collaboration with higher education for clean tech initiatives.

Teng College dean Joyce Feucht-Haviar attended the event on behalf of the Tseng College and noted that the University Associated Business Incubator Rankings has the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) in its 2014 Top 10 List of university-associated business incubators.

CSUN President Dianne F. Harrison serves on the LA Cleantech Incubator Leadership Council and recognizes the importance of the collaboration. In her Convocation Address to the campus last month, she said, LACI represents CSUN's next phase of engagement with business and industries to make a positive impact on the economic growth of our region. LACI@CSUN will also help students, faculty and alumni understand how ideas can become reality in the arena of new enterprise.
