CSUN welcomes 65 students from International Business School Americas (IBS) in Sao Paulo, Brazil! They are in the U.S. for a short-term business program from January 6-23, 2020. Students hailing from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Mexico, Peru and Spain will take a three-week series of classes focusing on communication, design, digital companies, e-business and innovation.
The course of study extends way beyond just listening to lectures and reading books. Students will develop their own business-related projects, engage in on-site trips to companies such as Disney Channels Worldwide, and meet with executives from new media powerhouses such as Twitter. At the same time, they will also get immersed in Southern California culture while visiting area attractions.
“This experience is unique, said Vanessa Andrade, director of international partnership and program development for the CSUN College of Graduate, International and Midcareer Education, while welcoming IBS students to campus. What you will learn here from each other, professors and executives at the companies is priceless. Be open to different perspectives and backgrounds. Build your network. Give everything you've got. Ask questions and engage.
Students will also get the advantage of professors with practical experience. CSUN is a university where a lot of faculty are also working professionals, Andrade said. Many serve important roles in businesses and as consultants. You will learn not only from faculty but from people who leave the classroom and go to work, she noted.
The IBS program runs twice a year at CSUN, in January and July. And while students visit the campus for just three weeks, they still are CSUN students. At the end of the presentation, they shouted out with Andrade, Once a Matador, Always a Matador!
